RPP leader Chand demands eferendum on disputed issues of constitution

Biratnagar, Nov 18: Former Prime Minister and leader of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Lokendra Bahadur Chand, has said that the disputed issues of a new constitution could be finalized by putting them to a referendum if they were not solved through the consensus process.

Talking to media persons in Biratnagar today, leader Chand said the constitution could be drafted on consensus basis rather than through the voting process and if this process failed then the disputed issues should be finalized through referendum.

Seven provinces are appropriate for the nation and parties should be more responsible and flexible for timely constitution, leader Chand said. is always optimism in politics; therefore, new constitution could be promulgated on the slated time if the parties become serious in this regard, the RPP leader added.

Speaking on a different note, he opined for calling general convention to finalize the intra-party dispute.
